DAR PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT-INVITATION October 31, 2015 October 27 2015

DAR Program on George Washington's Mulatto Man - Who was Billy Lee?

JOIN ME AT THE DAR'S D STREET LIBRARY ON 31 OCTOBER AT 1:00

Friends, Acquaintances, and Other Notable Persons:

I will be speaking at the DAR’s D Street facility this coming Saturday about George Washington’s “mulatto man Billy” Lee who is the central figure in my new book George Washington’s Mulatto Man – Who was Billy Lee?

Billy has been described as the “most famous slave of revolutionary period.” He earned this accolade as George Washington’s intrepid huntsman prior to the American Revolution, as his faithful body servant and attendant during the war, and as his val de chambre after the war.

I will explain, as I do in my book, that Billy Lee was also a distant cousin of the greatest man in history.

Information about the book can be found at: http://www.commonwealthbooks.org/collections/all/products/george-washingtons-mulatto-man.

Information about the DAR’s program can be found at: http://www.dar.org/national-society/events/library-author-talk-george-washington%E2%80%99s-mulatto-man-%E2%80%93-who-was-billy-lee-jim.

Directions to the DAR Library on D Street (DC) and parking information can be found at: http://www.dar.org/constitution-hall/hall-event-directions.

I hope you can join me Saturday, and I look forward to seeing you.

Yours truly,
